North Shore
Path cleaning on the North Shore
North Shore paths are often old brick walks, sandstone flagging and stepping stones laid under big trees decades ago. They go green and slippery in the shade of the canopy, and the joints are soft, so we treat the growth first and clean at low pressure.
Paths are where people slip. Side passages and garden walks sit in shade for most of the day, so algae and moss grow on them faster than anywhere else on the block. After rain they turn slick, and that's when someone ends up on the ground.
We treat the growth, clean the path at the pressure its surface can take, and clear the edges and joints so water drains instead of sitting. Concrete, pavers, sandstone, brick and crazy paving each get their own method.
Local detail
Path cleaning across the North Shore
What we see in suburbs on the North Shore:
- Hunters Hill: They're also the part of the house everyone walks past.
- Wahroonga: Natural slate lasts a century but it's brittle, and it hates being walked on.
- Killara: Synthetic grass and hard courts under trees grow moss and algae that make them slippery and slow.
- Gordon: We clean Gordon homes gently, clear gutters and treat moss on roofs and paths, and look after pool areas and courts.
- St Ives: That shows up as green paths, dark pool coping and mouldy south walls.
- Cremorne Point: The foreshore reserve and walk wrap around the point, with homes above on sandstone foundations and steps.
How often
For path cleaning, plan on near the water, every 12 months; under trees, every 6 to 12 months.
What affects the quote
- Waterfront: wash water near the shoreline may need to be contained and collected.
- Pools: run-off has to be kept out of the water, and coping is often a different stone from the terrace.
- Tree canopy: leaf litter and tannin stains often need a separate treatment.

Talk to Nathan directly. He quotes and attends every job himself.
Do you offer path cleaning everywhere on the North Shore?
Yes. We cover all 17 suburbs listed above from our base in Elanora Heights.
How do I stop my path being slippery?
Kill the algae, not only the surface layer. A treatment and a clean usually fix it, and better drainage or more light slows it coming back.
Can you clean crazy paving without damaging it?
Yes. We use low pressure on crazy paving so the mortar joints stay in place, and we tell you about any loose pieces first.
Do you clean garden steps too?
Yes. Steps, landings and the edges beside them are part of the job.
Will cleaning harm my lawn or plants?
We direct run-off away from beds and rinse plants down. The treatment goes on the path, not the garden.
Can you seal a path after cleaning?
Yes, once it's dry. Sealing slows algae growth and makes the next clean easier.
