Retaining walls hold back wet soil, so the back face is damp all the time. Water seeps through, carries salts and tannin to the front, and feeds mould and moss. On a sloping block they're often the biggest surface you see from the house.
We treat the growth, then clean the wall at the pressure its material can take: low for sandstone and render, firmer for block and brick in good condition. Weep holes are cleared so water can drain, and garden beds are protected.
