Northern Beaches

Oil stain removal on the Northern Beaches

On the Northern Beaches, driveways are often pale exposed aggregate or stone, and a single oil drip shows from the street. Many slope down to the road, so oil spreads as it runs. We treat the stain, lift the oil and keep it out of the drains that run to the beaches.

Oil doesn't sit on top of a driveway. It soaks into the pores of concrete and stone and keeps spreading, so the stain gets bigger and darker over time. Pressure on its own moves the surface grime but leaves the oil underneath.

We treat the stain with a product that releases the oil from the surface, let it work, then lift and collect it before cleaning the area. Old, deep stains may need more than one treatment, and some fade rather than disappear completely. We'll tell you what to expect before we start.

Local detail

Oil stain removal across the Northern Beaches

What we see in suburbs on the Northern Beaches:

  • Curl Curl: Drains are covered, run-off is directed to grass and on oily driveways we collect it.
  • Terrey Hills: Properties have long driveways, big sheds, tennis courts and extensive paved areas.
  • Mona Vale: Paved driveways, pool areas and rendered walls are common, and many homes have been renovated with light-coloured render that shows grime quickly.
  • Newport: Up on the hill towards Bilgola Plateau the blocks are bigger and greener, with spotted gums over most driveways.
  • Clontarf: Monash Crescent and Sandy Bay Road follow the water, and the houses on the high side reach it by long, steep driveways and inclinators.
  • Duffys Forest: Properties are large and surrounded by bush, with long driveways, outbuildings and horse paddocks.

When to call

Treat oil stains as soon as you can. Fresh oil lifts far more completely than oil that has soaked in for months.

What affects the quote

  • Bush debris: gutters and roofs may need clearing before washing.
  • Leaf litter: tannin stains and moss need treating, not just washing.
  • Steep access: carrying gear down stairs and running long hoses adds time.

Do you offer oil stain removal everywhere on the Northern Beaches?

Yes. We cover all 42 suburbs listed above from our base in Elanora Heights.

Can all oil stains be removed?

Fresh stains usually lift fully. Old, deep stains in porous concrete often lighten a lot but can leave a faint mark. We'll tell you before we start.

Will pressure cleaning remove an oil stain?

Not on its own. Pressure moves surface grime, but the oil sits below it. It needs a treatment first.

Where does the oil go?

It's lifted and collected. Oily water shouldn't go into the stormwater drain, so we don't wash it there.

Can you remove oil from pavers?

Yes. Pavers are porous, so the treatment is applied stain by stain and left to work.

Should I seal after removing oil stains?

Sealing means new drips sit on top long enough to wipe up. It's worth thinking about on a driveway that gets regular drips.
