Paver sealing

What paver sealing with us looks like

Pavers fade, stain and grow weeds in the joints. Concrete pavers lose their colour in the sun, clay pavers soak up oil and tannin, and the sand between them washes out, which lets weeds and ants in and lets pavers move.

We clean the pavers, treat the stains, re-sand the joints and let everything dry. Then we seal with a product that suits the paver and the look you want: a natural finish, or one that deepens the colour. A sealer also helps lock the joint sand in place.

Why it matters

What you get

Colour back

Faded pavers can be brought back with a colour-enhancing sealer.

Joints locked

Fresh joint sand, held in place by the sealer.

Fewer weeds

Full joints leave less room for weeds and ants.

Stains stay on top

Oil and leaf stains sit on the surface for longer.

Google review, Karen

Step 04 of 04

Seal

The sealer is applied evenly, with anti-slip additive where needed.

Why re-sand before sealing

Joint sand holds pavers together and stops them shifting. Pressure cleaning moves some of it, and years of rain wash more out. Refilling the joints before sealing means the sealer helps hold fresh sand in place, rather than sealing half-empty joints.

Natural or colour-enhancing

A natural-look sealer protects without changing the colour much. A colour-enhancing sealer deepens faded pavers and gives a richer look. We'll test both on a small area so you can choose.

Should pavers be sealed?

It helps on driveways, pool areas and anywhere oil, food or leaves stain them. It also slows fading on coloured concrete pavers.

Will sealing stop weeds between pavers?

It slows them by holding the joint sand in place. Weeds can still grow from seeds that land in the joints.

Can faded pavers be restored?

Often, yes. A clean and a colour-enhancing sealer bring back a lot of the colour.

Is sealing pavers around a pool safe?

Yes, with a penetrating sealer or an anti-slip additive, so the surface keeps its grip.

How long before I can use the area?

Foot traffic is usually fine once the sealer is touch dry. Cars wait for the full curing time.

How often do pavers need resealing?

Every few years, depending on traffic, sun and the sealer used.
