Path cleaning

What path cleaning with us looks like

Paths are where people slip. Side passages and garden walks sit in shade for most of the day, so algae and moss grow on them faster than anywhere else on the block. After rain they turn slick, and that's when someone ends up on the ground.

We treat the growth, clean the path at the pressure its surface can take, and clear the edges and joints so water drains instead of sitting. Concrete, pavers, sandstone, brick and crazy paving each get their own method.

Why it matters

What you get

Safer underfoot

Algae and moss are killed, not only rinsed, so the path grips again.

Joints kept in

Low pressure on pavers and crazy paving keeps sand and mortar joints in place.

Edges and steps included

Path edges, steps and landings are cleaned along with the main run.

Garden looked after

Run-off is directed away from beds and lawns, and plants are rinsed down.

Surfaces

If it's outside and it's hard, we've probably cleaned it. Ask if yours isn't listed.

  • Concrete paths
  • Exposed aggregate paths
  • Paver paths
  • Sandstone flagging

Step 01 of 04

Check the surface

We look at what the path is made of and how the joints and edges are holding up.

Step 02 of 04

Treat the growth

Algae, moss and mould are treated and left to work before any pressure goes on.

Step 03 of 04

Excellent service! Nathan is punctual and nothing is a problem.

Step 04 of 04

Rinse and clear

The path is rinsed, joints and drains cleared, and the garden edges washed down.

Why paths go green first

A path along the south side of a house might get an hour of sun a day in winter. Water from the roof and the garden runs across it and has nowhere to go. That suits algae, which forms a thin green film that turns slippery the moment it's wet.

Pressure on its own strips the top layer but leaves the roots in the joints and pores, so the green comes back within weeks. Treating it first means the path stays clean for longer.

Paths and pressure

Crazy paving and old brick paths are set in mortar or sand that high pressure can blow out. Sandstone flagging can be scarred by a narrow jet. We match the pressure to the path, and point out loose stones or failing joints before we start.

Call 0416 007 745
How do I stop my path being slippery?

Kill the algae, not only the surface layer. A treatment and a clean usually fix it, and better drainage or more light slows it coming back.

Can you clean crazy paving without damaging it?

Yes. We use low pressure on crazy paving so the mortar joints stay in place, and we tell you about any loose pieces first.

Do you clean garden steps too?

Yes. Steps, landings and the edges beside them are part of the job.

Will cleaning harm my lawn or plants?

We direct run-off away from beds and rinse plants down. The treatment goes on the path, not the garden.

Can you seal a path after cleaning?

Yes, once it's dry. Sealing slows algae growth and makes the next clean easier.

How long does path cleaning take?

Most garden paths and side passages take a few hours. Long or stepped paths take longer.
